Thermal & Acoustic Insulation Specialists
I’m often contacted by prospective customers asking about our services as a Melbourne insulation supplier. This started me thinking about what it means to be full-service insulation supplier. There are many types of insulation products available as well as services to supply and install insulation products, so let’s look at a few things to consider when selecting a Melbourne insulation supplier.
Types of Insulation Products Offered by Melbourne Insulation Suppliers
Many types of insulation are available to meet particular needs in residential and commercial buildings. These can include insulation batts. Insulation batts are made from a range of materials such as Glasswool and Polyester and are used in wall, Ceiling and underfloor applications. Pink Batts are a type of insulation Batt that is made from lightweight, flexible and resilient glasswool. These are specifically designed to thermally insulate ceilings and walls in domestic and commercial buildings.
Another type of insulation offered by full-service insulation suppliers is roof insulation. Many types of roof insulation products are available to fit each building’s requirements. These can include insulation batts, Soffit Lining boards, reflective foil, and more.
A range of acoustic insulation products is available to reduce the noise in commercial and residential buildings. Acoustic insulation can take the form of blankets and batts, plasterboard panels, and acoustic panels. To reduce the noise from wastewater pipes, a specialised type of insulation, called pipe lagging, can be installed around PVC pipes.
Types of Services Offered by Melbourne Insulation Suppliers
Maximising benefits to customers requires more than simply supplying insulation. Selecting the wrong product for the job or not installing it correctly will lead to poor results. A full-service Melbourne insulation supplier will offer all the services to ensure that the right insulation is selected and is installed professionally. This includes inspecting homes and commercial buildings to determine the correct product for the situation. For new construction, this can involve reviewing plans and discussing the project with the builder.
After choosing the best product for the job, the next step is installation. Insulspec insulation contractors ensure safe and effective installation. Some situations call for Insulspec’s specialised tradesman to install insulation, such as professional plasterers to install insulation boards to Soffit Linings in carparks and commercial environments.

In many cases we have seen dramatic improvements by retrofitting warehouses with leading-edge insulation solutions. One example is retrofitting the insulation of the entire roof space at Kangan Institute in Richmond. The warehouse is used to teach trade courses. Unfortunately, the original roof insulation was not effective at keeping the cold out in winter and heat out in summer. As a result, students were not comfortable in the learning environment.
Our company was called in to retrofit the warehouse insulation to create a more comfortable environment and save energy. The solution included installing KingspanAIR-CELL Retroshield®.
Kingspan AIR-CELL Retroshield® has a unique reflective anti-tear surface and works as both a vapour barrier and a high performance insulation. Kingspan AIR-CELL® combats all three types of heat gain and heat loss —radiation, convection and conduction. This results in thermal performance that is superior to many conventional insulation products. In addition, Kingspan AIR-CELL Retroshield® is non-allergenic, non-irritant and does not have the health and safety warnings found with many conventional bulk insulations.
When retrofitting warehouse roof insulation, we assist in finding the right insulation product for the situation. We use a range of competitive foil and insulation board products (such as Dow Thermax) for roof insulation retrofit projects. In addition, qualified plasterers complete all our installations to ensure high-quality results. In this respect, we stand out from most insulation companies that do not offer this high level of skill for installation.
In the case of Kangan Institute in Richmond, the insulation retrofit of the roof space resulted in many benefits. It created year-round comfort for the students and staff in the building and dramatically reduced power bills. In addition, the insulation retrofit achieved Section J of the BCA.
In Melbourne, there are numerous warehouses with inefficient roof insulation. We continue to help companies reduce power use, save money and increase comfort by retrofitting roof insulation with a range of innovative insulation products.
If your warehouse roof insulation is not providing the efficiency and comfort you need, we will be glad to provide a free consultation and quote
